Darrens classes are always very well sequenced and paced. The tracks are spot on and give you that extra boost because you thoroughly enjoy the workout. Not to mention his inspirational quotes and motivation.. “Stop feeling sorry for yourself”.. “I didnt say stop..” By the end of the class, everyone is on a high and the frequent returners (like myself) look foward to it every week!

I started training with Darren in a bid to lose some of the stubborn fat around my middle and generally tone up. What I achieved with Darren’s help was far more than this! Using kettlebells and various bodyweight exercises, my overall strength and fitness improved so much in a short space of time that I was able to perform exercises I would never have attempted on my own. Each workout is tailored to you, to you can achieve exactly what you have discussed. I have learnt so much from Darren, he is willing to share his expert knowledge and answer any questions you come up with. His tips on nutrition are excellent and his dedication is clear. With our exercise programme, Darren knew exactly how to encourage me, push me, entertain me, distract me. He helped me understand the importance of correct form – once you’ve got this right, it never leaves you. My programme was devised to allow me to progress to more and more developed exercises and I am amazed now at what I can lift, push or press! Darren was always positive and cheerful, and gave me confidence. He knows his stuff, and when I couldn’t manage something, would provide a variation that allowed me to build up to the full exercise. And yes, I did see results, and so did my friends – within a month I had visibly lost weight, gained definition was eating more healthily, felt more energetic and looked better. Everyone commented! I stayed with him until he went freelance. I am still going to the gym three to four times a week. I would wholeheartedly recommend Darren as a trainer, without reservation.

I decided to look into getting a personal trainer when I noticed I had started to loose the push I needed to get any workout completed. I met Darren, who was teaching on a fitness weekend. His vibe, dedication and passion for fitness and encouragement for his clients was very evident in his classes. As someone who suffers with anxiety, I needed someone who I felt comfortable with and you can’t help but have that with Darren. He has helped me surpass my self doubts and crush any negative feelings about my abilities, especially when it comes to my personal fitness goals. I feel stronger and more motivated after every session. Our workouts vary every week from hiit to weights to own body weight routines. To date one of my favourite things to incorporate into our sessions is learning boxing techniques and workouts. These are fun, yet challenging. I enjoy seeing the progress I’m making. One of the rare qualities I admire in Darren is his care for his clients. They’re not just money making for him. You can tell he genuinely wants them to succeed. It’s all about the personal touch, down to the encouraging text you get out of the blue ” Your stronger, fitter, faster than yesterday so don’t quit now” makes all the difference.
